ABOUT US

History

Gotham Soccer League was formed in the Summer of 2006 out of a strong desire for weeknight games of full-field, 11-a-side, 90-minute soccer (football for the purists). We have since grown to become one of New York City's most competitive leagues, and we aim to give our players the pro experience through the use of game videos, professional photography, league news, statistics, and more. Gotham has recently started divisions in Cincinnati and Tucson as well.

Men's 11v11 Divisions

Gotham is dedicated to providing NYC with soccer the way it is meant to be played. We play by FIFA rules with a few exceptions described in our rules. The level of play is competitive amateur, with two divisions offering different levels of play. Many players in the first division played at the US collegiate level or beyond.  And our second division is also made up of experienced players. Video from Division 1 can be found here, and video from Division 2 can be found here.

Men's 8v8 Division

We offer a men's 8v8 league at Brooklyn Bridge Park. The level of play is best described as "competitive" (not recommended for beginners). Video from this division can be found here.

Women's 8v8 Division

We offer a women's 8v8 league at Brooklyn Bridge Park. This division is open to all levels of experience, but most players are somewhat experienced. Video from this division can be found here.

Coed 7v7 and 8v8 Divisions

We frequently offer coed leagues playing on various fields throughout NYC including Octagon Field on Roosevelt Island and Pier 40 in Manhattan. Our coed leagues require a minimum of 2 women on the field (not including the goalkeeper). These divisions are open to all levels of experience, but most players are somewhat experienced. Video from our coed divisions can be found here.
