Can you believe we've reached the halfway point in the spring season? Here's where things stand:
Division 1: ISL drew 0-0 with Orchard in a 1st vs 2nd place clash on Tuesday, so ISL remains at the top of the table. And on Thursday, Brooklyn Red Star came back from a 4-0 deficit against CLS United with five unanswered goals led by Hamzah Alnasser's hat trick (Hamzah is pictured above), but CLS hit back for one more to earn a share of the points as the game ended 5-5.
Division 2: It was a busy week in D2! First, the Prairie Dogs of Brooklyn won again, and they are now the only team left in D1 or D2 with a perfect record. It's starting to look like a battle for second place. Triboro FC and Barmy Army beat BG2 and Gotham City respectively, and Ballistic came back to draw Zum Schneider. And don't count out BG2 who are just a point behind the crowded pack. Elsewhere, Ramblers United picked up their first win of the season as they beat the Metro City Fury behind a brace by Trey Denton.
Men's 8v8: We're just ten days away from the table split, and there are three teams fighting for two top four spots. The Dirty Birds jumped back into the race with a 2-1 victory over Toon Army, and that leaves both of them tied with the Big Lewandowski on points. But the Big L has a game in hand, and the next two weeks will be crucial to the standings. Elsewhere, Sha Sha Queso jumped back into first place with a win over Gotham United FC. It looks like a two-horse race for the title, and Queso's next game against Wiz KhaFIFA is likely to determine the league champion.
Women's 8v8: The Ruelers scored a comprehensive victory over the Oranginas this week, and the Manhattan Kickers edged Appletown 4-2. Kelly Draper can't stop scoring for the Kickers, and she leads the pack in the race for the Golden Boot after the first couple weeks of the women's season.
