What is all this anyway?

I bought my first guitar in 2000. It was a cheap Ibanez dreadnought acoustic with lousy action, and it came with a short how-to book and a cheesy VHS tape featuring a cheery Andy Timmons. As the economy started to crash, I spent less time at work and more time playing. Soon, I was hooked. In 2001, I bought my first electric guitar (a used Washburn semi-hollowbody--I wanted to be Norman Blake from Teenage Fanclub). Far before I should have attempted such a challenging song, I tried to learn "Purple Haze". I failed spectacularly, and that led me to start writing my own songs because no one could tell me I was playing my own songs incorrectly. In 2002, I got my first digital recorder. I recorded some truly terrible songs, and to this day, I haven't stopped recording them. In 2003, I wrote and recorded my first tongue-in-cheek holiday song, and I hope to keep this yearly tradition alive as long as I'm able. I write/play/sing almost everything on these. If you find SNL offensive, you should probably skip these tunes. They are all rated PG-13. Enjoy at your own risk. -TJ
